May 2010 Pet of the Month

Hello. My name is Claude, also known as "Claudie McClaude", "theClaudester", and "No, Claude!" As you can probably tell, I am a handsome andpersonable (and modest) 15 year-old Maine Coon cat. I live with my Mommy and Daddy and two brothers, Edgar and Pierre (also pretty cats but sometimes very immature).
I chose my Mommy 14 years ago at a Pet Smart in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I knew she couldn't resist my cute face and beautiful fur coat. She had recently lost her fur baby and came to Pet Smart "just to look" but fell in love with me (and I with her), so I went to my new home. The first time I met my Daddy, I threw up, but soon came to love him and he is now mine. I love to sit in his lap every chance I get. I also love to play with my toys, lie in the sun, sleep, and hang out with my family-- as long as Pierre shows me proper respect. I do NOT like most other cats, especially when neighborhood cats are in my yard and make fun of me through the windows. Mommy and Daddy won't let me outside to teach those jerk cats a lesson or two, but once, a few years ago, I jumped out a two-story window through the screen to dive-bomb a neighbor cat.

This is Empire's picture on his 15th birthday! He is blind & deaf now but is still our ornery guy who likes to play "Get Your Food". He is a great napping buddy, is always up for a treat and despite the picture he hates hats!! We adore him & are thankful to Dr Pribil for taking such good care of him since he was a puppy and for answering all the worried phone calls from Mommy!!!

Maddy is an 11-year-old AKC Golden Retriever. She shares her Edmond home with Steve and Laura Scott and "her kids," Eric, Ethan and Caitlin.
She takes seriously her responsibilities as household protector, homework supervisor, napping companion, people greeter, friend and confidant. She can make any bad day better. Her favorite place is anywhere her people happen to be. Her hobbies are sleeping in the sun, chasing squirrels and allowing people to pet her.
Maddy receives her medical care from Dr. Hufnagel at Westbrook Animal Clinic and Dr. Pribil at Animal Medical Clinic. She started as a puppy with Westbrook's previous owner, Dr. Hann. We are very pleased with the care she receives and the attention and concern of the entire Pet Medical Center team.
February 2010 Pet of the Month

Whitey was born to a neighborhood stray at the place where I used to live. I watched him grow up. He was such a nice friendly guy that when I moved, I couldn't leave without him. So I took him in, along with one of his half-sisters from a younger litter.
After a few years he started acting lethargic, lost his appetite, stopped eating entirely, and became jaundiced. Dr. Pribil diagnosed hepatic lipidosis, a serious liver condition which is often fatal. The only treatment is artificial feeding. So the Doc installed a gastrostomy tube, through which I could pass food directly into his stomach. For three weeks my life revolved around that tube, four times a day injecting a slurry of prescription food into his stomach to keep him nourished. One day he started eating on his own, the tube was removed, and he was his old self again!
Today, though a "geriatric" fellow at 13 1/2, he is still frisky and affectionate (he is curled up on my lap as I type). My best friend and companion.

January 2010 Pet of the Month
The first thing Callie wants to do each day is go walking to the Nazarene Church and the Southern Hills Christian Church to see her kids. If the kids see her and get to pet her, they are happy all day long. Callie has a great memory and will remember you after meeting you just one time
December 2009 Pet of the Month

My name is Felix McCoy and I am the four-legged son of Bob and Betty McCoy.
I was born in Midwest City and for most of my two years there, I prowled the streets and was in the "pound" twice. I became very street smart and had absolutely no manners.
One day, I was attacked by the family pit bull and my owner took me to the veterinarian where I met Bob and Betty. She said she really did not want me and the McCoys offered to adopt me. Three days later after some surgery, I came to live with them on their thirty acres where I have lived for almost three years.
I am an excellent rider in the car and motor home. We were in an RV park one time and a little girl said I looked like I had on Maybelline mascara. My black eyes are my trademark.
Life is good. Now if they had only changed my name. I think I was probably named after Felix the cat because of my eyes.
I love my parents and they love me back because I turned out to be a very good boy. I will soon be five years old.
Well we've got just the opportunity you need. We are excited to announce that December will kick off our new Pet of the Month program:
This is a great opportunity for you to make your pet the true star they are. Here's how it works:
We mail you a newsletter like this one every quarter and you email us pictures of your pets in their best holiday or everyday garb/pose along with a small bio about them. We pick our favorite and an 8x10 framed picture of your pet is featured in our lobby for a month . Your little star will also be featured in our quarterly newsletter. Once your pets month comes to an end, we give you the 8X10 framed picture and give them a goody bag full of treats they are sure to love.
Here's what we need from you:
Send your pictures and bios by email to us at bburney@pmcofedmond.com by November 1 and we will pick our featured pets for December, January & February.
