We at Pet Medical Center know how much you love and care for your pet, but also know that budgets are tight during this economically challenging time.
There are many potential dangers to the health and well-being of your pet, and our goal as part of you and your pet's healthcare team is to extend length and quality of life as much as possible. Some of those potential dangers include Heartworm disease, Tick disease, Cardiac disease, Hepatitis, Kidney disease, Cancer, etc.... One year in your pet's life is the equivalent of approximately 7 human years------think about how many health problems or changes could occur in that timeframe.
Pet Medical Center of Edmond has developed and SUBSTANTIALLY DISCOUNTED four different Wellness Packages that will enable us to discover disease at early stages, and enable effective management and/or cure of those diseases.
We understand that the financial distress that comes with owning a young puppy or kitten can turn people away from wanting to take that step. So we have also developed some SUBSTANTIALLY DISCOUNTED packages for puppies and kittens that allows people who want to take that step to feel financially capable of doing so.
With all of our packages you can chose to take advantage of greater savings by paying for the plan in full. For those clients that can't financialy do that, we offer in-house ZERO percent interest payment plans for up to 12 months depending on the package you purchase.

Chest X-ray
Physical Exam: This includes a head to toe review of the entire body. Some recommendations regarding dental care, diet, and skin care, to name a few, may be given following this exams based on the doctor's findings.
Annual Vaccinations: The vaccinations given will be based on vaccination history. Some of our vaccinations are given every 3 years based on recommendations from the AVMA, however there are still vaccinations that must be given annually.
Heartworm Screening: Although you may administer your pet's heartworm preventative on a consistent monthly basis, heartworm preventative is only a preventative and it is not a 100% guarantee that your pet will not contract heartworms. Based on recommendations set forth by the American Heartworm Association, we still require a heartworm screening annually to refill heartworm preventative.
Intestinal Parasite Screening: The heartworm preventative you are giving your pet monthly will help prevent your pet from contracting intestinal parasites. Some of the intestinal parasites your pet can contract are contagious to humans; therefore the CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommends that pets be tested bi-annually for intestinal parasites. This test will also test for any bacteria that may be in your pets stool.
Tick Disease Screening: This screening is performed with the same test as the heartworm screening. It tests for three tick-borne diseases: Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, and Lymes Disease. All of these diseases are contracted by tick bites and can be contracted even if you are using a tick preventative on your pets.
Dental Cleaning: As with humans, regular dental cleanings are necessary in the prevention of disease. The bacteria in your pets mouth is not only causing bad breath but may also be causing disease in other parts of the body. We recommend a dental cleaning annually to help in the early prevention of disease.
Urinalysis: This test screens for infection, crystals, diabetes, and kidney malfunction.
Complete Blood Chemistry Profile and Complete Blood Count Screening: These tests help us to evaluate function of many parts of the body---liver, kidney, pancreas, blood protein levels, electrolyte levels, immune system, red blood cell health, clotting factors, etc...
Heart Disease Screening: The Electrocardiogram assesses electrical function of the heart. Abnormalities in electrical stimulation of the heart results in odd rhythms, skipped beats, etc...
Thyroid Function Test: The thyroid hormone is very important in regulating metabolism in your pet, and also has a profound affect on coat/skin health.
Glaucoma Screening: Glaucoma is caused by increased buildup of intra-optic fluid within the eye, and results in increased pressure. The condition is quite painful and will eventually lead to blindness if not controlled.
